Sass Sasot Ayaw Pagsalitain Ni Pastor : “We Do Not Allow Lgbtq to Be Guest Speaker on Our Podium”

 

Naglabas ng pahayag ang Church of God Dasmarinas City kung saan ay inamin nila na hindi sila payag na pagsalitain ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ community sa kanilang venue.

Sa kanilang pahayag, sinabi ni COG Senior Pastor Bishop Anthony V. Velasco na hiniling nila sa Southern Philippines Institute of Science and Technology (SPIST) na rumerenta sa kanilang church na palitan na lamang nila si Sasot bilang guest speaker dahil isa itong transgender.

“Early Friday morning, our church administrator initiated a talk to the school staff because we feel that there is a breach of trust already. We laid down openly to them what is going to happen if they will try to violate our religious beliefs. That if our belief is disrespected, we will have no choice but to turn off the lights and sound system as our final recourse to keep the sanctity of the pulpit,” ani Velasco.

“Praying that the school will comply and RESPECT our belief which has been communicated multiple times. This last and drastic option has been clearly communicated to them because we really CANNOT ALLOW OUR PULPIT TO BE DESECRATED.” dagdag pa niya.

Sa kanyang pahayag naman, itinanggi ni Sassot na nagsalita siya gamit ang pulpito ng COG.

“I never used your pulpit. I used the podium brought by the school. Clarification lang po.” sabi ni Sasot.

Samantala ay naglabas naman ng pahayag ang SPIST tungkol sa nangyaring insidente.

Binatikos din nito ang Church of God dahil sinira ng nasabing religious group ang espesyal na araw ng kanilang mga estudyante.

“They dampened the excitement of the graduating class, their parents, and guardians. They ruined the solemnity of the graduation rites,” sabi ng eskwelahan.
