Mainit na usapin ngayon sa mundo ng social media at pageantry ang umano'y pagkakansela sa Miss Planet International na gaganapin sa Uganda.
Matatandaang nagsidatingan na sa Uganda ang mga kandidata mula sa iba't-ibang bansa na makikilahok sa nasabing pageant. Subalit, nagulat ang lahat matapos magbahagi ng updates sina Miss Planet Czech Republic Tamila Sparrow at Miss Planet Jamaica Tonille Watkis na hindi na matutuloy ang Ms. Planet.
“I have to apologize, but unfortunately we were robbed. We haven’t had even 10% of activity, nothing was paid, nor our accommodation nor our food. We’re stuck in the Uganda. We have been trying to solve it, even those who were not involved into the pageant paid their own money to keep our fed and safe. I couldn’t be silent anymore. I apologize for everybody who put a lot of effort in us monetary or mentally wise. But this has to be seen by public. Please share. 35 contestants (who hasn’t left yet) were scammed,” ayon kay Ms. Czech Republic sa kaniyang Instagram story nitong Biyernes, November 11.
Dagdag pa nito na nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa mga otoridad hinggil sa nasabing isyu.
Lalo pang uminit ang isyu nang magsalita naman ang kandidata mula sa Jamaica na si Tonille Watkis. Ayon sa kanya, nakansela na ng tuluyan ang Ms. Planet pageant.
“Thank you all for your support up until this moment. Unfortunately, the competition has been canceled. But, it was such an honor to have the chance to represent my beautiful Jamaica again,” lahad nito sa kanyang IG stories.
Nakatakdang maganap ang coronation night ng Miss Planet International sa darating na November 19. Samantala, hindi pa nagpapalabas ng official statement ang pamunuan ng Ms. Planet hinggil sa lumalabas na isyu.
