Inamin ng bagong may-ari ng Miss Universe na si Anne Jakrajutatip na nagulat din siya nang hindi makapasok sa top 16 sa Miss Universe 2022 pageant ang ilang fan favorites.
Kabilang sa mga paborito ng fan na hindi nakapasok sa semi-finals ay ang mga kandidata mula sa Pilipinas, Thailand, Italy, Indonesia, at Mexico, at iba pa.
"I think I counted myself that 15 or 20 of them used to be in the poll internationally. Everyone just ripped out the poll, oh my goodness, everything just went upside down," pahayag ni Anne sa exclusive interview ni Olivia Quido.
Bagama't nagulat siya sa mga resulta, binigyang-diin ni Anne na naniniwala siya sa mataas na kalidad ng paghusga ng panel ng pagpili.
"I'm surprised but I'm not shocked by the quality or by the high standard, benchmark of the judges... I'm surprised because usually they get in, but it's good news for a lot of other countries. Because they usually say, 'Oh right, Top 16 is always the same,'" pahayag niya.
"It's the first time that we had Laos in the Top 16, and a few other countries like Australia [which haven't entered the semis in a long while]. We have to give equal chance to everyone," dagdag pa niya.
Tinanong din ang Thai entrepreneur kung ano ang maaaring asahan ng mga pageant fans sa mga susunod na edisyon ng Miss Universe.
"We would love to become the number one platform for women's empowerment, that would be the big change. Rather than focusing on the crown alone. We focus on the quality women," sagot naman ni Anne.
