Bea Alonzo Nanghihingi Ng 30 Million Na Damage Kay Ogie Diaz

 Mainit na pinag-uusapan ngayon sa ilang mga social media ang ulat kung saan naibulgar na ang aktrers na si Bea Alonzo ay nanghihingi ng P30,000,000 mula sa talent manager at showbiz reporter na si Ogie Diaz para sa mga pinsalang ginawa umano ng huli laban sa kanya.

Sa pahayag na inilathala ng legal counsel ni Ogie Diaz na si Atty.  Regie Tongol, ibinunyag niya na nagsampa ng counter-affidavits ang kanyang mga kliyente laban kay Bea Alonzo, na nagsampa ng kaso laban sa mga showbiz reporters para sa impormasyong inilathala nila sa kanilang online program.

Maging ang co-host ni Ogie Diaz na si Loi Villarama ay naghain rin ng perjy laban kay Bea Alonzo.

Ipinahayag rin ni Atty. Tongol na naniniwala silang nabigo si Bea Alonzo na patunayan na may malisya sa mga impormasyong ibinunyag ni Ogie Diaz tungkol sa kanya. Iginiit din nila na isang  public figure si Bea Alonzo kaya naman normal na lamang maiulat ang mga bagay-bagay patungkol sa kanya.

“By being an actress, complainant in effect gave the public a legitimate interest in her life and in her work. Therefore, the subject posts and utterances by Mr. Diaz’s co-hosts are within the realm of fair comment on her work as one of the actresses in the Philippines contrary to their claim in the media that it was about her personal life,” pahayag legal counsel ni Atty. Tongol.

“Under our laws ‘fair commentaries on matters of public interest are privileged and constitute a valid defense in an action for libel or slander’ because democracy would be meaningless without free discussion of public affairs, even at the cost of a few bruised egos,” dagdag pa nito.

Inilarawan din nila ang P30-M na hinihingi ni Bea Alonzo sa kampo ni Ogie Diaz bilang hindi makatwiran at hinimok din ang mga mamamahayag, blogger, at manunulat na huwag "matakot" sa mga "balat-sibuyas" na mga public figures.

“Our clients will fight this case with courage because they have no malicious intent and the thirty million pesos (P30,0000,000.00) damages being asked by Ms. Bea Alonzo in her complaint is not only unjustified and unreasonable but is also exorbitant. 

"We are also ready to file other counter charges against Ms. Alonzo for malicious prosecution and damages for this suppression of our client’s freedom of the press and expression in due time.”
